Spiritual & Physical Self Reliance

There’s a quote which says: “The world is busy with its own cares, sorrows and joys, and pays little heed to you. There is but one great pass-word to success,—self-reliance.” William George Jordan.”

Think about those words for a minute. The world pays little attention to what each one of is doing. We can’t depend on everyone else to take care of us, we have to learn to take care of ourselves physically and spiritually. We are responsible for what we do with our time, the choices we make, the things we allow to enter our minds and for the efforts we make toward becoming more self reliant throughout our lives. We know that we are ultimately in charge of our own Spiritual and Physical wellbeing. We are the ones that can chose of our own free will and choices to better ourselves, to make the changes necessary to be able to let go of the bad habits or the dependency that we place on other people or things to determine “our joy” our “emotions” etc. It’s only when we realize the we don’t depend on anyone or anything else for our spiritual and physical growth (except for God) that we will be able to experience the power and Strength that comes from making our own good choices and decisions that will help us to feel the peace and control in knowing that we have more control of our lives than we think.

Becoming self reliant will allow us to feel strengthened, to choose what is best for ourselves and to feel proud of being able to take care of our own physical, emotional and spiritual needs. To be able to become self-reliant, we must work towards it. Work is physical, mental, or spiritual effort. It requires action from our part. As we do the work necessary toward our goals we will notice that this will bring happiness, self-worth, and prosperity into our lives. Through work, we can accomplish many good things, we can reach goals, learn to strengthen ourselves, bring our own light into our lives and be able to strengthen others as well. We have to remember that it’s not just the wishing but the DOING which brings the results. ??

We can only do this work ourselves, no one else can do this for us. If we want our health to be better, then we must make the changes ourselves. We have to make the choices each day to try to accomplish the goals that we have set for ourselves. We have to choose the right food each day, we have to do the exercises, and set time aside to get rid of stress and to motivate ourselves to do what is right for our health. We can become physically self reliant without having to depend on anything or anyone else to make it happen for ourselves. It will be our choices, our work and our sacrifices that will bring the results that we want in our lives. We can do this! ?

We also have to remember that we are not just physical beings, but we are also spiritual beings as well. Our spirits may require even more care than everything else around us. If our spirit or our mind is weak, we can’t expect to be strong in other things, like controlling our physical cravings or giving ourselves limitations etc. It’s our spirit that brings strength to everything else in our lives. We all know that all of the material things around us are temporary and they will eventually be gone. Even our bodies will age, become weaker and at some point we wi all have to leave this earth. That is why it so important for us to not neglect the spiritual side of ourselves, It is the only thing we will take with us after this life! When we become Spiritually self reliant, we can feed our own souls with all that is good, peaceful and that will bring more light into our lives. We can take care of our own souls daily, we can build our own relationship with God, we can choose to make time to talk to Him, to let Him know how we’re feeling, to read and learn from His words, and to listen to Him after we pray to receive the revelation that He wants to provide for our lives. When we take time to talk to God and to wait to listen to Him we will receive in our hearts the inspiration and revelation that He wants to provide for our lives. We can also choose to listen daily to positive and uplifting messages that will feed our souls & help us to feel peaceful and good. This may require turning off the distractions and saying no to the things that don’t help us feel positive and uplifted.

As we choose of four own free will to take care of ourselves, to draw closer to God and to become physically and spiritually self reliant. We will see how much more strength this will bring into our lives. We will be better able to help ourselves and to be a light to those around us as well. God will be so proud of us for choosing the right things for ourselves. He will open the way and provide the blessings to move us forward towards becoming the best version of ourselves and the person that God intents us to become, 🙂 which will be better than anything else we could ever want for ourselves. 🙂

Here’s a scripture that talks more about that.

For behold, it is not meet that I should command in all things; for he that is compelled in all things, the same is a slothful and not a wise servant; wherefore he receiveth no reward.

Verily I say, men should be anxiously engaged in a good cause, and do many things of their own free will, and bring to pass much righteousness;

For the power is in them, wherein they are agents unto themselves. And inasmuch as men do good they shall in nowise lose their reward. (D&C 58:26-28)

Let’s stay focused on doing good for ourselves and on making the right choices. God knows that we can do it! HE TRUSTS US TO DO IT & AS CHILDREN OF GOD WE CAN MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICES! We can become spiritually and physically self reliant and we will be rewarded for our efforts in the end. 🙂

Trust in God, believe in Him and know that He is your only true source of peace in your life. YOU CAN DO ALL THINGS WITH HIS HELP & as you do your best, you will be blessed and Everything will work out 🙂

The spiritual goal for the week is: To be spiritually self reliant by making sure that we do what is necessary to come closer to God this week. We can try harder this week to talk to Him and thank Him for all He has given us, maybe we can spend a little time reading something uplifting for our souls and most importantly try to spend a little time listening for His guidance after your prayers. Write down your impressions that come into your heart and go and do them. If you seek Him, He will speak to you.❤️

Our physical goal for the week is: To be physically self reliant by making sure that we take care of choosing what is good to eat, the type of exercise that we must do and how we can mediate and quiet our minds to let go of stress etc. We can choose to take care of ourselves physically and we can be strong to say no to those things that are not good for our health. Tell yourself, “I am in control and I can do this!”

Count on the help that God can provide to remove distractions or things that get in the way of our goals and of becoming self reliant in every way possible. We must count on Him to help us spiritually, to feel God close to our lives and to allow His power to help us change our ways for the better.
